Incase you missed it yesterday, I was on 5 News Talk Live with the brilliant Nick Duncalf talking about whether or not the film industry (that has an unprecedented 20 films over the $100 million mark out this summer, 6 more than last year) are headed for the ‘dud’ zone.
What do you think, are we headed for a disaster movie of our own? Is there too much choice out there? What have been your highs and lows of the Summer movie collection?
So I managed to catch this trailer yesterday and really REALLY laughed – so fingers crossed the full film is just as funny! So I wanted to share with you all the redband trailer – anyone not wanting to see Jennifer Aniston playing a stripper – look away now!
Tut tut! I knew you’d all be watching – well its not just about her stripping! Here’s the lowdown on what you can expect from the movie!
We’re the Millers
David is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids—after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Having been jumped by a trio of gutter punks who steal his stash and his cash, they leave him in major debt to a drug lord. In order to wipe the slate clean, David must now become a big-time drug smuggler by bringing Brad’s latest shipment in from Mexico. Twisting the arms of his neighbours including a cynical stripper, a wannabe customer and a tatted-and-pierced streetwise teen, he devises a fool proof plan. One fake wife, two pretend kids and a huge, shiny campervan later, the “Millers” are on a roadtrip that is sure to end with a bang.

So who’s excited for the film extravaganza that is The Great Gatsby next month? Well prepare yourself to get even more excited as some new (and gorgeous) posters have just been released.
For anyone who doesn’t know what Warhammer is, we can tell you…its one of the most popular and successful wargame franchises of all time! Yeah! Pretty impressive!
And now it comes re-imagined and brought to life as a dazzling, blood-soaked CG animated movie. Featuring the vocal talents of Terence Stamp, John Hurt and Sean Pertwee, its called Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie.
So what happens in this film?
It is the 41st Millennium, and the only force that stands between humanity and alien hordes are the Space Marines. Genetically enhanced, clad in power armour and knowing no fear, they are the angels of death. And the greatest of them are the Ultramarines. But when a select squad of scarred veterans and raw recruits responds to a distant planet’s distress beacon, they discover that a horrific evil has been unleashed. Amidst a living nightmare of chaos, carnage, and daemonic fury, these steel battle-brothers must now survive the ultimate enemy: themselves.
Sounds pretty cool no?
It’s loud, it’s bloody, it has unfeasibly well-armoured Space Marines firing huge guns at anything that moves and features one of the most impressively fearsome villains we’ve seen in ages. Pure boy’s own, sci-fi escapism at its best.
It explodes onto DVD and Blu-ray on 17th June – so Warhammer fans and those curious about Warhammer, make sure you pick up a copy!
Here you go guys and gals – the awesome new trailer for Dead Man Down – it looks super cool!
What’s it all about?
When the body of a gang member is discovered in the freezer of crime boss Alphonse’s (Terrence Howard) mansion, a clear message has been sent…or has it?
As the gang reacts, members Darcy (Dominic Cooper) and Victor (Colin Farrell) take it upon themselves to dig further into who is after Alphonse. As a further complication to the gang neighbour Beatrice (Noomi Rapace) discovers Victor has a dark secret and contracts him into a scheme to seek out her own vengeance, with the violence escalating, Alphonse begins suspect that revenge is closer than he thought.
This is the American Theatrical debut of director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

From the writers of Saw IV, V, VI and 3D comes the thrilling sequel to The Collector that works just as well as a standalone film. Tense, terrifying and packed full of action The Collection will have you on the edge of your seat – or hiding behind it!
Here’s what you can expect from the film….

When the grisly massacre is over, Elena is the only survivor. But before she can escape, she is locked in a trunk and transported to an unknown location.
Fortunately for Elena, one man— Arkin (Josh Stewart) —knows exactly where she’s headed, having just escaped from there with his life and sanity barely intact. Going back is the last thing on Arkin’s mind, but Elena’s wealthy father (Christopher McDonald) hires a crack team of mercenaries to force Arkin to lead them to the killer’s lair. But even these hardened warriors are not prepared for what they encounter: an abandoned hotel-turned-torture-chamber, rigged with deadly traps and filled with mangled corpses. Can Arkin and the team get to Elena before she too becomes part of his gruesome “collection”?

If you still need more convincing then here’s what some other horror fans thought of the film…
“An unapologetic celebration of splatter cinema.” – screenrant.com
“A slick, wickedly funny, and brazenly over-the-top sequel that does justice to the budding franchise.” – filmschoolrejects.com
“The production design, cinematography, make-up effects (practical effects here, no CG nonsense) and music are all surprisingly superb.” – JoBlo
“Rarely does a sequel live up to its predecessor, but the director/writing team of Dunstan and Patrick have crafted a well thought out, tense film, more than worthy of 2009’s The Collector.” – 8/10 – Starburstmagazine.com
